GWOC Cross Country Finishes Well at State
The OHSAA State Boys and Girls Cross Country Championships concluded today in Hebron, Ohio at the National Trail Raceway. In the Division I boys and girls races, there were 148 and 150 athletes competing, respectively. The Centerville boys cross country team finished twelfth overall with an average time of 16:25.22 and 257 points. Individuals competing in the race included Jake Brumfield of Butler who finished tenth overall (15:39.89), Andy Harden of Butler who finished forty-second (16:03.25) and Branden Nosker of Troy who finished fifty-fourth (16:11.75). In the girls championship, team results found Centerville in second overall with an average time of 19:00.56 and 142 points. The Elks were followed by the Lady Beavers of Beavercreek in third with an average time of 18:58.38 and 147 points. Springboro finished in seventh with an average time of 19:16.96 and a total of 203 points. Out of the 150 women runners, it was Jacquelyn Crow of Lebanon who finished first with a time of 17:39.31, setting the fastest time at National Trail in two years. Another top ten individual was Sydney Leiher of Beavercreek who finished with a time of 18:10.73. (Full list of girls results)
