Week Nine Football Highlights

10/20/2012

It's hard to believe that week nine of football has come and gone. With one more division game to go, teams are making moves to ensure their division championship title. In the North division, Trotwood and Butler took on Sidney and Piqua, respectively, and maintained their winning division records. Next week, however, only one of them will be able to add another win to their record as the teams will be playing each other for the North division title. The Central division has been heated as four teams went into Friday night's game with a 2-1 record, all tied for first. Wayne, Beavercreek and Northmont added a win to their tally (3-1) but Centerville fell to 2-2 in its game against Beavercreek. Wayne will take on Northmont next week, allowing only one of them to remain in the top position. The South division has seen Springboro primarily on top while Miamisburg, Lebanon and Xenia follow. Miamisburg came out with a win in overtime this week improving its record to 3-1 while its opponent, Lebanon, fell to 2-2. Springboro defeated Xenia in this week's Penn Station Game of the Week which resulted in a 2-2 record for Xenia. Good luck to all teams in preparing for week ten, the last week of regular season play!
