GWOC Cross Country Meet Crowns Champions
The 2012 GWOC Cross Country meet transpired Saturday morning at the host site, Lebanon High School. The middle school teams competed early in the morning and were followed by the varsity teams just before noon. The boys started off the varsity portion of the championship meet while the girls teams closed it out. After a tough day of competition, the Centerville boys came out on top in both the Central division and overall in the conference with a total of 65 points. Second and third overall went to Troy (73 points) and Beavercreek (88 points), respectively. The first place North division title went to Troy while the first place South division title went to Springboro.
The girls competition resulted in similar top finishers, however, the Central division champion and overall GWOC champion titles went to the lady Beavers. Beavercreek finished with a total of 47 points, earning the team the top finishing position. Centerville finished with a close second of 50 points and was followed by Springboro with 56 points. The North division champion was Troy, which finished fourth overall. The third place overall finisher, Springboro, took home the South division champion title.
