What Counts – GWOC Standings and Determining Divisional Champions
It’s full steam ahead as all fall sports are now in season. With that begins GWOC conference play. As you know by now the GWOC begins the year with two new schools and a new divisional alignment. The structure of the GWOC now includes 1 conference, 2 leagues, and 4 divisions. The leagues are named National and American while the divisions are named North, South, East, and West.
Fans always like following their favorite GWOC team so below is a cheat sheet to help you in following your team’s path towards a potential GWOC championship.
For the sports of baseball, basketball, bowling, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball all league games played count in the conference standings for determining a GWOC divisional champion. So, if a team in the National League plays another team in the National League it counts in the conference standings. The same is true of the American League.
The sports of cheerleading, cross country, golf, swimming, track, and wrestling determine their divisional championships by a GWOC conference tournament. A team’s place at the GWOC conference tournament will determine the divisional champions.
The sport of football only counts divisional played games in the conference standings and those games are used for determining the four divisional champions.
