2016 Fall Sports Preview

FOOTBALL:  Looking for some excitement on a Friday evening? Catch a GWOC football game – you won’t be disappointed.  Last year six GWOC teams made it to the postseason with Wayne bringing home a State runner-up trophy.  Wondering how this year’s teams will fare? Check out the Coaches’ Preview Show on Sunday, August 21, at 6 p.m.  Come join the excitement at Elsa’s Kettering – 1216 Stroop Road or listen live on AM 1410 ESPN radio.

VOLLEYBALL: The season opens up on August 20 and the GWOC schedule begins on August 23, 2016. Troy will surely be trying to repeat their perfect 22-0 season and GWOC Championship title.

BOYS SOCCER: Lebanon and Greenville both hit the road to open up the season.  Lebanon plays at Kings and Greenville plays at Newton on Friday, August 19. 

GIRLS SOCCER: The girls’ season also kicks off on Friday, August 19.  Fairmont hosts Alter while Lebanon travels to Milford.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: The GWOC Cross Country Tournament will be held on October 15, 2016 at Centerville High School.  Beavercreek edged out Lebanon by 1 point last year. Will they be able to defend their 2015 Championship title?

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: The GWOC Cross Country Tournament will be hosted by Centerville High School on October 15, 2016.  In addition to hosting, the lady Elks will be looking to defend their GWOC Championship title.

BOYS GOLF: The GWOC Post Season Tournament will be held on September 29, 2016 at Beechwood Golf Course in Arcanum.  Centerville grabbed the top spot in the Pre-Season Tournament and is looking to take the Championship for the second time in three years after winning in 2014.

GIRLS GOLF:  The Girls GWOC Post Season Tournament will be held on September 28, 2016 at Beechwood Golf Course in Arcanum.   Will this be the year that last year’s Divisional Champs Troy or Springboro upset the Lady Elks from Centerville?

GIRLS TENNIS: The GWOC Tennis Tournament will be held on September 29, 2016.  Springboro will be gunning for a repeat of their 2015 Championship title.
